Spa, 100 year Fly-in, August 9
On Sunday August 9 I went to Spa (yes near the famous racetrack) to visit the '100 year Fly-in'. The weather was a bit hazy but dry. Later in the afternoon the sun showed up. A large number and great variety of aircraft were present at Spa! The actual flying display would start in the afternoon so I walked the static first.

After watching the static we went outside the airport to photograph the aircraft coming in for landing. Finding a nice spot next to the runway on the airport terrain was pretty difficult, many people were there to visit the Fly-in. Outside the airport there was plenty of space and a very nice position to take pictures from!

When the flying display started we decided to stay outside the airport. More and more people discovered this nice spot!

The flying display started with a Bleriot replica (1909). After the Bleriot the S.E.5 replica (1917) flew a display, after that the Morane-Saulnier MS-317 (1932)... after that another more modern aircraft and so on. They kept building it up until the present modern aircraft. While the aircraft performed cars and motor cycles from that same era drove back and forwards on the taxiways!
When the WW2 aircraft were preparing there display I had to leave unfortunately. But not home! Something way better was waiting! Somewhere where I could make far better pictures of the aircraft than from my spot outside the airport... ...wondering what that might be?
