Duxford Flying Legends July 11, the morning

On Friday July 10, it's almost 8 pm when I leave home to pickup a fellow spotter and his daughter. Then we will go to Breda where a bus will bring us al the way to Duxford. We booked a trip via Spottertrips.eu for a one day visit to Duxford Flying Legends airshow. The bus drove to Calais where a boat brought us to Dover. From there we drove to Duxford. We arrived with time to spare. The weather wasn't very good unfortunately. Overcast and drizzle rain. At 8 am tha gates opened and the first aircraft we photographed were inside a hangar.

The flying program would start at 2 pm so we had plenty of time to view the static. Because it was still raining we went to the American Air Museum, one of the many museums on Duxford. It contained a great number of aircraft in very good condition. The biggest one inside was a B-52 bomber, the fastest an SR-71 Blackbird.

After the museum the weather was a bit better but the drizzly rain was still there. We moved to the next museum, a tank museum. A lot of different tanks inside there! The rain didn't stop and we decided to wait as long as possible with the flightline walk. We visited two hangars where aircraft were maintained.

After the hangars the rain finally stopped. For £4 you could walk the flightline. Lot's of people took the opportunity.
